DR CLIFF MALLETT

Cliff Mallett is responsible for the ongoing development of Carbon Energy’s world-leading technology. Additionally, Cliff undertakes assessment of potential coal deposits that may be suitable for the Company’s expanding portfolio of Australian and international projects. He is also heavily involved with the evaluation of emerging carbon capture and storage opportunities. Cliff is a world leading authority on UCG. Having pioneered Carbon Energy’s keyseam technology, Cliff continues to lead our experienced technical team, who have achieved the most effective operations and the highest gas quality publically recorded from a UCG project; as well as having keyseam independently validated by the Queensland Chief Scientist. Prior to working with Carbon Energy Cliff was one of the lead scientists with the CSIRO, that developed keyseam following 10 years of research and development.
Cliff has been associated with advancing the development of UCG process technology for more than 15 years and has degrees in geology from the University of Queensland and the University of Melbourne. He has almost 30 years experience in mining research at CSIRO culminating in him acting as Chief of CSIRO Exploration and Mining Division, interim Director of the Centre for Low Emission Technology, and Executive Manager, Queensland Centre of Advanced Technologies. Cliff was appointed Chairman of the International Association for Underground Coal Gasification (UCGA) and in June 2016, Director of the International UCG Research Centre for China.
